Celebrate the dandelion plant—a staple throughout human history! Tasting opportunities abound during this fun learning event as we create and share dandelion jelly, fritters, and more. Explore the health benefits of the dandelion through new exhibits and by sampling bitters, cordials, wine, root beer, and tea. Understand honey bee care and how important the dandelion is to their survival, sample dandelion flower honey, and learn about non-toxic lawn care. In our 1910 drugstore exhibit, sample cosmetics made from the dandelion. Observe demonstrations of cooking, canning, and preserving, and join in the activities of face painting, yoga, and hands-on crafts. Dandelion, bee, and natural lawn care products, as well as Remick potted seedlings and snacks, will be for sale. Some activities are scheduled; this is a rain or shine event.
