The 2nd annual Wet Paint Week will close with a final art show and concert at The Preserve at Chocorua on Saturday, May 12th. The Art Reception will run from 5:00pm - 7:00pm and will feature all of the artworks painted during the week. That event is free and open to the public.
At 7:30, a concert featuring singer/songwriter Judith Owen and her incredible trio will take the stage for an unforgettable night of music. Tickets will be available on this website starting soon.
Pianist-singer-songwriter Judith Owen is known for her love of musical variety and melding it into a great stylistic gumbo all her own. Her latest release, ‘Somebody’s Child’ is the culmination of this mix: voice and piano front and centre, songs that are vignettes of life crafted from the perspective that we ARE all “somebody’s child” – parental as well as planetary. An album about us.
The album features the legendary Leland Sklar on bass, and master percussionist Pedro Segundo, both will join her at The Preserve on May 12th, for the closing event of the 2nd annual Wet Paint. Sklar is very familiar to music fans and has has played across 2,000 albums, for the likes of Phil Collins, Billy Cobham, Rod Stewart, James Taylor, Hall & Oates, Jackson Browne, David Bowie, Ray Charles, B.B. King, The Doors and countless others.
Judith, Leland and Pedro recently returned from an extended tour in Europe, the UK and Russia, opening for Bryan Ferry
" Her luxurious vocal acrobatics bear a minor resemblance to a velvety Stevie Nicks and her New Orleans style piano playing is sublime, singing songs of friendship and heartbreak.” (shout4music)
